Summer 2009
Vutec inks on PETG plastic, Vutec inks on mounted Lintec material
three suspended panels, each panel: 96 x 40”
viewable on site 24 hours daily
33 Harry Agganis Way
Boston, MA 02215
This installation is a further development of the imagery and themes in "Microscopium." Commissioned specifically for this space, it was designed to be an integrated part of the room. The images were printed directly onto transparent materials and the panels are suspended in the center of the room, making the piece viewable from 360 degrees.

Microscopium is a series of prints, rich in textures and organic forms that straddle representation and abstraction. They contain concrete, familiar objects embedded in larger, ambiguous landscapes. Faces, tentacles, or shells may reveal themselves only to disappear into a rain cloud, rocky ridge, or cellular structure. This combination of varied forms, vastly different in implied scale, causes the scenes to oscillate between a perceived microscopic and macroscopic view.
The series’ title is taken from the constellation Microscopium, a small star group resembling a microscope. |
