STATEMENT
In my work, I aim to capture people. Painting is the only satisfactory way of expressing my ideas and experiences. A main recurring theme in my work is that of mental illness as I suffer from schizophrenia.
I work in acrylic paints and collage on canvas. I have evolved my own unique style using smears and running dribbles of paint. The smears represent how all things in this world evaporate to non-existence as time rapidly passes. I am continually restless in trying to create a new style to call my own. I use brushes, sponges, feathers, bottles of paint and most especially my fingers, often creating whole pieces solely with the use of my bare hands.
