I re-create objects that exist on the periphery of what is typically considered 'political': decorative gates, children's forts, counterfeit Persian rugs. The process of describing these objects through sculpture, drawing and photography attempts to reveal the complex role visual elements play in forming cultural values, and the hidden ideologies and euphemisms found in what appears to be familiar or neutral, decorative, and domestic.
